Harvard Medical School receives $4.5 million for cannabinoid research
“This is a an excellent example of basic and translational Cannabinoid research supported by unrestricted funding that does not involve politically motivated restrictions and conflicts of interest. While anti-cannabis organizations will inevitably try to dismiss any findings from this multidisciplinary and multi-institutional effort on the basis of the source of the funds, it is clear from the announcement that the caliber of the institutions (Harvard and MIT) and the investigators leading these efforts will ensure results that are valid, free of commercial bias and significantly advance the scientific understanding of cannabinoids and the endocannabinoid system in regulating a variety of important physiological processes that underlying health and wellness maintenance.” – David G Ostrow, MD PhD LFAPA
